Robert R. Barela, a 13-year resident of Star Valley and well known Rim Country artist died at the age of 69, June 20, 2008 in Newport Beach, Calif. after a six-week battle with a fungal type of pneumonia.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his mother, Emily, children Zina Jabi, Robert Barela Jr., Ted O'Barr, Gretchen Juergens and Becky Brown and 10 grandchildren.

He was an active member of Mountain Bible Church, the Payson Art League and a former member of Artists of the Rim Gallery. A celebration of life will be held at Mountain Bible Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12.
