Thelma Hazel Vratisovsky, 80, of Casa Grande, formerly of Payson, died July 1, 2008. She was born Sept. 12, 1927 in Minnesota to Frederick and Florence Mitchell.

She married Joseph Vratisovsky in 1945 and moved from South Dakota to Arizona in 1960.

Thelma Hazel Vratisovsky, 80, of Casa Grande, formerly of Payson, died July 1, 2008. She was born Sept. 12, 1927 in Minnesota to Frederick and Florence Mitchell. She married Joseph Vratisovsky in 1945 and moved from South Dakota to Arizona in 1960. After working at several jobs, Mrs. Vratisovsky retired to Payson in 1980 and was active in the Take Off Pounds Sensibly chapter, Mount Cross Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Payson Senior Center. Survivors include two daughters, Elaine McCarthy of Casa Grande and Ellen Braslawsce of Phoenix; brother, Les Mitchell; sister, Mavis Boyer of South Dakota; four grandchildren, Monte D. Coffman, Sharla Coffman, Aaron McCarthy and Devon Bergeron; two step-granddaughters, Rhonda Ball and Lorri Miller; five great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Edward Vratisovsky; her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Vratisovsky's name may be made to Hospice Charitable Fund of Central Arizona, 1675 E. Monument Plaza Drive, Casa Grande, AZ 85222.

Burial will be in Mountain Meadows Memorial Park of Payson at a later date.

Messinger Payson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
