Middle School Teacher Attends Financial Literacy Training

The University of Arizona Family Economics and Financial Education project (FEFE) conducted its 7th annual summer educators training June 16-19, in Tucson.The training was sponsored through a grant from Take Charge America, Inc., a debt counseling and consolidation nonprofit organization.

Donna Goble, a family and consumer science teacher at Rim Country Middle School, attended the conference with more than 100 educators, from 29 states.

FEFE's family economics and finance training provides educators with the skills and educational materials necessary to teach a semester-long course, "Take Charge of Your Finances."

Financial literacy continues to be a mounting concern in the United States, and the educators who participated in the training are valuable community assets. The FEFE training has prepared them to provide a service to students, parents, other educators and community members, the impact is endless.
