Mr. Gillilan was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Boyd Leighton “Gil” Gillilan died June 29, 2008 in Payson. He was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Denver, Colo. Mr. Gillilan was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He obtained an MBA degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill. He was a controller for the Chicago Housing Authority, the Maremont Foundation in Chicago and UDC Homes in Tempe. He was also a partner at Combank Mortgage in Chicago. Mr. Gillilan loved flowers, animals, nature, history and politics, and was active in many philanthropic and charitable organizations.

Mr. Gillilan loved flowers, animals, nature, history and politics, and was active in many philanthropic and charitable organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary E. Gillilan; sisters, Darleen Milligan and Betty Whitman, both of Washington state; nephews, Sheldon and John Whitman; and niece, Terry Tupper.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
