Charles Vincent Giacinto, 88, of Payson, died July 7, 2008. He was born March 20, 1920 in Chicago, Ill.

He served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. Upon discharge he was technical sergeant of the 580th Field Artillery Battalion. Honors received: American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Sifferd and son-in-law, Robert Sifferd of Belton, Texas (both former Payson residents); daughter-in-law, Pamela Giacinto; and two grandchildren, Emily and Anthony Giacinto of California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. Giacinto; and son, Charles E. Giacinto.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Sifferd and son-in-law, Robert Sifferd of Belton, Texas (both former Payson residents); daughter-in-law, Pamela Giacinto; and two grandchildren, Emily and Anthony Giacinto of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. Giacinto; and son, Charles E. Giacinto.

Visitation was July 10 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home.

Interment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 11 at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery, 1163 Old Chisholm Trail in Dewey.
