Rim Country members of the Health Occupation Students of America made a big contribution to the Payson Senior Center this week.
Using funds raised at a May golf tournament, the students were able to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator and donate it to the Payson Senior Center.
The presentation was made July 14, according to Judy Baker of the Mogollon Health Alliance, which sponsors the area HOSA chapter with Eastern Arizona Area Health Education Centers.
The students will be helping the Payson Fire Department train members of the Senior Center staff on the use of the equipment in the near future, Baker said.
Enough money was raised by the HOSA golf tournament to purchase two of the defibrillators. The placement of the second unit has not yet been decided, Baker said.
