Miles Monty Comstock died July 11, 2008 in Payson. He was born Dec. 4, 1931 in Tonkawa, Okla.
He was raised from early childhood in Corpus Christi, Texas where he lived and raised his children.
Mr. Comstock served four years in the U.S. Navy and retired with 30 years in civil service.
He spent the last 15 years in Payson with his wife, Sue, hiking the trails and immersed in the nature he loved. The couple traveled the world together, but it was Payson that Mr. Comstock loved most, and where he found his greatest peace and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Comstock; daughter, Dr. Paula Comstock of Malibu, Calif.; sons, Miles J. (Roxanne) Comstock and Jason (Kim) Comstock of Corpus Christi, Texas; two step-children, Sandra Vlk and Gregg Smith; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; mother, Virginia Comstock of Corpus Christi; brother, Jerry (Brenda) Comstock; sister, Ginger (Joe) Mokry all of Texas; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miles M. Comstock Sr.
Memorial services were held July 14 at Mountain Bible Church in Payson. A private graveside service was held at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park July 16. Arrangements made by Messinger Payson Funeral Home and the Payson Military Honor Guard.
