The Chair-ish Auction, featuring an eclectic collection of designer chairs, is Saturday, Aug. 2 in the Cultural Hall of the Pine Community Center.

Sponsored by Take Pride of Pine and Strawberry, the evening's proceeds will benefit the Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library.


Area artists are helping the Take Pride of Pine and Strawberry with its "Chair-ish Auction" to raise funds for the Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library in Pine. An estimated 40, one-of-kind artworks in the form of chairs will be auctioned Aug. 2 at the Cultural Hall of the Pine Community Center. Admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. A preview will be held beginning at 4 p.m., with the auction starting at 6 p.m.

Whimsical to classical, practical to fanciful, more than 40 chairs have been transformed into works of art by talented local artists. The auction chairs can be previewed beginning at 4 p.m., at which time the artists will be available to discuss the stories behind their contributions to the benefit.

The auction begins at 6 p.m. with Pine's Frank Allen calling for bids. There will also be a silent auction of cherished surprises that will run throughout the evening. A Chair-ish Auction quilt, crafted by the DPS Quilt Angels, will be raffled. Barb and Chuck Casey will provide musical entertainment. Finger foods, desserts and light beverages will be served.
