Payson Should Follow Star Valley And Install Photo Radar

The answer to Payson's current economic woes is simple: swallow our pride and do as Star Valley has successfully done. They have, to their credit, drastically increased much needed revenue, without raising taxes and fees, by implementing a photo radar program. Payson could easily do the same, with matching results.

And, to be sure, it is a law enforcement and public safety issue, but we should also promote it as what it really is: revenue enhancement. (Nothing wrong with that; for the most part it would be the ‘out-of-towners' leaving us little extra money on their way out of town.) It would also free up Payson Police Department resources for more pressing enforcement duties.

This needs to be looked at, and implemented quickly.
