Douglas Leroy Koppen, 67, died May 23, 2008 in Payson. He was born Oct. 23, 1940 in Lancaster, Wis.
Mr. Koppen was employed as an electrical lineman, welder, semi-truck driver and later served as an ombudsman volunteer. He also served his church as a deacon for three years.
He was a Payson resident for approximately 10 years and loved the outdoors.
Mr. Koppen is survived by his loving companion, Amalia Livelli of Payson; four children, Jacquelyn (John) Cherone of McHenry, Ill., Daniel Koppen of Wichita, Kan., Alan (Dorothy) Koppen of San Diego, Calif. and Jeana (Ronald) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Tony Koppen of Madison, Wis. and Sabrina (Joshua) Danielson of San Diego, Calif.; one great-grandchild, Anthony Danielson-Koppen; and brother, Herbert (Rose) Koppen of Sherrill, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dwane Koppen; his parents, Frank Koppen and Genevieve Schauff; brothers, Laverne Koppen of Hartford, Wis., Kenneth Koppen of Kieler, Wis. and Joseph Koppen of Burton, Wis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 at the Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St., in Payson.
