Time Out, Inc. is proud to announce its annual One-of-a-Kind Fashion Show and Luncheon.

This special event will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at the Payson Elks Lodge, 1208 N. Highway 87. The fashions come to you direct from your favorite thrift store, the Time Out 2 Thrift Shop, 500 S. Beeline Highway.


The summer concert series continues Saturday, June 21 with classic country music by Junction 87. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a free Concert Under the Stars from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Green Valley Park Amphitheater on West Main Street and Green Valley Parkway. This event is sponsored by the Payson Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, call 474-5242, ext. 7.

Buy your tickets early, $15 each, as this event sells out fast. All proceeds help fund the programs offered by Time Out. Tickets may be purchased at the thrift shop or by calling Audrey at (928) 472-8007.

Senior Circle potluck picnic June 21

Senior Circle's 9th anniversary will be celebrated with a potluck picnic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Rumsey Park on North McLane Road.

Barbecued pulled pork will be provided. Please bring a dish to share.

Activities include games, raffles, a KMOG live remote, music and lots of fun!

Payson Area Trails System hikes planned

A Payson Area Trails System (PATS) three-hour hike of Monument Peak Trail will take place Saturday, June 21.

This beautiful route features fantastic views of Monument Peak and Granite Dells, along with some views of the Rim. The hike is rated "easy." Participants will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Monument Peak Trailhead, which is 3.3 miles east on Granite Dells Road.

Expect some periodic hills and loose granite, so bring appropriate footwear and water.

This is a free event!egister in advance at the Payson Parks and Recreation Office at 1000 W. Country Club Drive, or on-site the day of the hike.

Free CPR class

Mogollon Health Alliance, in conjunction with the Payson Fire Department, will be holding a free "Family and Friends" CPR class Thursday, July 17. Please call 472-2588 for more information and to register.

MHA pays for the class through fund-raising, our gift shop at the hospital, and through the generous donations to our Almost New Thrift Shop at 304 E. Aero Drive.

PHS Class of 1968 plans 40-year reunion

The Payson High School Class of 1968 is having a 40-year reunion scheduled for Aug. 22-23 in Payson.

The reunion agenda includes:

  • A gathering (all classes are welcome) Friday, Aug. 22 at Fargo's Steakhouse with no-host Happy Hour at 6 p.m.
  • A gathering (all classes are welcome), Saturday, Aug. 23 at Rumsey Park Ramada #4, noon to 4 p.m., bring your lunch/drinks. 6 p.m. social time (no alcohol).
  • A dinner/dance Saturday Aug. 23 at Best Western Payson Inn, formerly the Swiss Village Lodge. Dinner provided at 7 p.m. Dance to music of the Don Lusk Band from 8 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. A block of rooms has been reserved; please mention the PHS Class of 1968 reunion, 1-800-247-9477.

Other classes are welcome to participate in the dinner/dance. Fry bread taco dinner

The second annual Indian Fry Bread Taco Dinner will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at the Masonic Hall, 200 E. Rancho Road (behind the fire station).

Prepared by members of Ponderosa Chapter #64, Order of the Eastern Star, the event is open to the public for $8 per person. Taco meat, pinto beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, salsa and sour cream will be available for you to build your tacos on fresh, hot fry bread. Your choice of beverage is included. A dessert taco will also be available.

Luau open house June 21 at Powell House

The Powell House, 806 W. Longhorn Road, invites Rim Country residents to join them for a luau-themed open house. Enjoy food, music and games from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 21. RSVP to (928) 472-3282.

Sonworld Adventure Park VBS July 21-25

Calvary Chapel Payson will host vacation bible school from 8 a.m. to noon July 21-25.

Admission is free, just call 468-0801 to sign up. Children must be 3 years (potty-trained) to 8th grade. Space is limited --first come, first served.
