The local chapter of Arizona Press Women (APW) is bringing four speakers to Payson on June 28 to help local folks interested in being a writer and/or illustrator of children's books.

The Rim Country community will benefit from not having to drive to the Valley to hear some outstanding speakers.

The keynote speaker, Conrad J. Storad, is an Arizona author of more than two dozen children's books.

His most recent won a big award -- The Best Book Award from the Arizona Book Publishers Association. Conrad is a former reporter and now is the editor of ASU Research Magazine and Chain Reaction, which is targeted to young readers.

For a professional seminar, this is very inexpensive. The cost is only $40 for the full day, including lunch -- early-bird registration by June 21 is $35.

APW is a nonprofit group that's working to help area writers/photographers and others interested in communication arts to advance their careers.
