Some promising student artists from Gila County will be featured in a multi-media exhibit in the Boyce Thompson Arboretum visitor center during July and August.
Gila Community College students from the Payson and Gila Pueblo campuses will be showing their works. Most of the artists are students from Globe and Payson, and are retirees.
"The range of works are predominately landscapes and city scenes, and some are portraits, figures and botanicals," according to Larry Brown, chair of the art department. "Many of these artists are also amateur photographers who use their photography for subject matter. I am impressed with the variety of artworks produced by these Globe and Payson students."
The exhibit will be on display from July 14 through Aug. 31.
