I'd like to say thank you to everyone at the Relay for Life last week. My mom was injured at about 10 p.m. that Friday.
It was amazing how many people stepped up to help. I was left to watch our booth that whole night. I had expected to sleep sometime that night, but didn't get to. But right after the injury, my mom had to go the emergency room. Then people from the Relay committee came to me, some I didn't know at all, and asked what they could do and if my mom was OK.
I feel as though the Relay brought Payson together. We stayed up together, worked together, and remembered together. We may have made over $50,000, but we became a family. This was my first Relay, but definitely not my last.
Once again, a thank you to the Relay committee and all participants, you really deserve it. Three cheers for Relay for Life are in order. If you weren't there, you need to be there next year. It's a wonderful experience, and that is coming from a teenager.
