Ladies Hold Annual Retreat At Creek Bible Fellowship

Creek Bible Fellowship had their ladies annual retreat, Saturday, June 21.

Twenty-one ladies showed up and enjoyed their special guest speaker, Marlene Blough, from Alaska. Her theme was "Growing Grace and the Knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

These women were among those attending the annual Creek Bible Fellowship Retreat. From left to right are Joy Ruitz, Marlene Blough, Susan Hepworth, Pat Guevara and Jane Johnson.

The ladies enjoyed singing hymns with Rita Quay leading them on the piano. Rita also played a beautiful piece on the piano for the ladies.

Afterward, they all enjoyed a delicious potluck of their favorite salads. They all got to take home a craft they made by decorating magnetic photo frames. The ladies learned how to draw closer to the Lord and shared special fellowship.

They are all looking forward to the next retreat which is scheduled in October.

Good food and fun

The Christopher/Kohl's Firebelles hosted a fun-filled afternoon of fine food and dominos for the Tonto Village Fireflies last week at the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department.

Eighteen of these dedicated ladies showed up and had a fun afternoon together. These volunteers raise a lot of money for the two local fire departments. The next luncheon is scheduled for July 7 at Kohl's Ranch. You can call Phyllis Agnew at (928) 478-0976 for reservations.

The next Firebelles' function is scheduled for Saturday, July 5. It is a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and they will also have a bake sale.

Anyone wishing to help out can bake some goodies and drop them off at the fire hall that morning. If you want to help with the breakfast, call Phyllis Agnew at (928) 478-0976.

July 4th

It's the 4th of July weekend. So, instead of cooking, take the family down to the fire hall and fill them up, then buy some goodies for later in the day. Don't forget Tuesday nights are game nights at the fire hall (cards and dominoes) for those wanting to get out and have some fun.

Melodrama tickets

If you have not gotten your tickets for the melodrama, it is not too late. Tonight's showing is at 7 p.m and there are two shows on Saturday, one at 2 p.m. and another at 7 p.m. You can call Marsha Ward in Christopher Creek at (928) 478-5086 and Effie Roehr at (928) 474-8108. Don't miss out. It is funny!

Congratulations goes out to proud parents, Don and Susan Rhodes of Hunter Creek. Their daughter Nicole Zimmerman got married this last weekend to Curry Van Cura. Wishing the happy couple years of togetherness.

60 years of marriage

Bud and Holly Hinkle celebrated their marriage of 60 years at the Christopher Creek Bible Church on June 26. All of their children and grandchildren and friends were on hand for this event. Wishing the two of you many more years of happiness.

Thanks to Jeff Daniels for setting up the sound and taping the guest speaker and a special thanks for setting up the chapel for VBS and cleanup, and especially sound track for the music.
