Tonto Village Iii Roads Got A Facelift

Tonto Village III got a facelift this past week. The Gila County road maintenance crew chip sealed all the streets in TV III.

The residents are thankful to the county for drastically cutting down on the amount of dust that is generated by the vehicles that have to use the streets. The whole village is eagerly waiting for the paving of the Control Road. The amount of dust generated by campers and people who live off the Control Road is choking the villagers who live in close proximity.

A grand time was had by most of the Firebelles at the Domino Divas competition last Wednesday at the fire station in Christopher Creek.

Melodrama

Tickets are going fast for all the performances of "The Cookie Shop or Nellie was a Baker 'Cause She Kneaded the Dough."

Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, the melodrama will be presented at the Christopher Creek LDS church. There is no charge to see the performances, but you will need a ticket. Call Effie Roehr at 474-8108 or Marsha Ward at 478-5086 for the 7 p.m. performances or the Saturday afternoon performance at 2 p.m. I peeked in at one of their dress rehearsals and it sure does look like a lot of fun, for the players as well as the audience.

Domino Divas

Last Wednesday the Domino Divas traveled to Christopher Creek to participate in a challenge by the Firebelles. The event was such a success that there will be a rematch sometime in August. Prizes were awarded for various categories, such as the one with the lowest score, Nancy Yoakum; the highest score, Lorna Ashebrenner; the loudest person, a tie between Bianca Milman and Charlie Martin.

The prize for the "quietest" went to Eileen Kittock The "sniveler" award went to Judie Derochers, and last, but not least, the one who had to ask most often "Whose turn is it?" went to Dara Sutton. Everyone brought food for lunch and the tables were overloaded with great eats.
