Pet peeve: People who show up late and stay too long.

Why the Rim Country? To be near our daughter and son-in-law and grandbabies. Living in this area is like Minnesota, where we are from, without all the snow.

Person in history you'd most like to meet and why:Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a brilliant woman and cared about people. I love her quote, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

In school, who was your favorite teacher and why? Mr. Bryden, fifth- and eighth-grade reading. He was encouraging and taught me to have high expectations, a good work ethic and always do my best.

What was your favorite subject in school and why? Reading. I enjoy fiction with strong or interesting characters and historical settings. Reading is relaxing.

What was your favorite year in school and why? My senior year in high school everything just "clicked." I was editor of the school paper and loved working with a great group of kids.
