Students (left to right, above) Katelyn Steeley, Erika Clark and Mikayla Mendoza in Monica Oakley's class at Frontier Elementary School talked about their dreams and choices after a reading of a Dr. Seuss book on making good choices. One student said a good choice, "is not having to go to the principal's office."

"Oh, the Places We'll Go," a Dr. Seuss book about making good choices trekking through life, was one of the books Monica Oakley read to her students at Frontier Elementary School during Read Across America Day.

Her students also made a craft-paper suitcase of goals and dreams and choices, designed to be "carried" throughout the day to track the journey through books and connect those books to students' lives.
