Warning Lights Needed At Airport And Mclane

On Saturday March 7, around 5:30 p.m., I was involved in an automobile accident at the intersection of Airport and McLane roads. Fortunately, no one was injured, but if I had been speeding downhe hill, as many do, things would have been much worse.

I live in the "Vistas" and use Airport Road almost every day when I need to go to town. The alternate route is past the Golf Course, Green Valley Park, Main Street, so my options are limited.

This intersection is extremely dangerous. I have had several near hits and my wife has experienced a few herself.

The other party is a resident of Phoenix and I do not believe he knew this was not a four-way stop. He made a complete stop, looked up the hill at me, and then, pulled right out in front of me. I barely had time to hit my brakes. Too little, too late, we crashed.

I think we need, at least, flashing red lights on McLane with a warning sign that the intersection you are about to cross is not a four-way stop. Also, a warning on Airport Road, that you are about to enter a dangerous intersection and you, should reduce your speed. I told the responding officers, who were very professional in handling the call, how I felt and they agreed.

ope that something will be done before someone goes and gets seriously injured.
