The faithful in the Rim Country will host many celebrations of Jesus Christ's resurrection.

A non-denominational day of musical evangelism happens at Rumsey Park this Saturday.

Two or More is once again the featured musical group at the annual Resurrection Celebration at Payson's Rumsey Park for most of Saturday, March 22.

Two or More, a Christian recording group with roots in a variety of music styles, including native Ecuadorian will return for the 2008 Resurrection Celebration at Rumsey Park Saturday, March 22.

The music schedule is:

10 a.m., Calvary Praise Band

11:30 a.m., Two or More

1:15 p.m., Blue Grass

2 p.m., La Roca

3 p.m. R-U, a blues/rock band

The Sixth Annual Resurrection Celebration has added clowns this year, and several information booths, including Oasis Christian Books, Creation Science booth, The Gospel Story with face painting, Gideon's Bible Society, U-Turn for Christ Ministry, Payson Christian Clinic, Moms in Touch International, Time Out Shelter, Tonto Christian Camp, and more. There is no admission fee. The games, food, beverages and music are free as well.

Many churches have prepared special Holy Week and Easter services open to all.

Holy Week at Mount Cross Lutheran Church

Mount Cross Lutheran Church's Holy Week services begin Sunday, March 16 with a celebration of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. Palm Sunday services include a traditional program at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary program at 10:30 a.m.

The Maundy Thursday service is at 6 p.m., March 20 and will focus on learning to be a servant leader through Jesus' example.

A community service for Good Friday will be held at 7 p.m., March 21, with the congregation of Mount Cross joined by those of St. Paul's Episcopal, Payson United Methodist, Payson Community Presbyterian, along with the general public to mark this solemn day.

Easter Sunday services on March 23 include a traditional program at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary program at 10:30 a.m. There will also be an Easter brunch and an Easter egg hunt.

Holy Week services at Holy Nativity

The Church of the Holy Nativity an Anglican Catholic parish will commemorate the passion of our Lord with Holy Week services starting with Palm Sunday Mass and reading of the Passion at 10 a.m., March 16. On Holy Wednesday Low Mass and Unction will be at 10 a.m., March 19. On Maundy Thursday, March 20, Mass and Meditation will be at 6 p.m. Good Friday services will include Holy Communion and Stations of the Cross at 2 p.m., March 21. The church will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for private devotions and meditations. The congregation will celebrate the Resurrection on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m., March 23 with a Solemn High Mass, followed by Easter brunch and Easter egg hunt for the children in the Cloister. All are welcome.

Rock of Ages Lutheran Holy Week services

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church begins its Holy Week services with Palm Sunday services at 9 a.m., Sunday, March 16; followed by Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion at 7 p.m., March 20. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m., Friday, March 21. Easter services will be celebrated twice, a Sonrise Easter service is planned for 6 a.m. and a victorious Easter service will be held at 9 a.m. A free breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. between the two services.

Shepherd of the Pines Holy Week services

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, is holding 6 p.m. services on Maundy Thursday, March 20 and Good Friday, March 21. There will be two services on Easter Sunday, March 23. A sunrise service is set for 7 a.m., with Easter worship at 10 a.m.

A breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. in the fellowship hall with proceeds from the free-will offering going to the New Beginnings Pregnancy Center. Funds will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

The Potters House presents "The Passion"

The Potters House Church is presenting Mel Gibson's film, "The Passion of the Christ" at 7 p.m., Friday, March 21. Dominos Pizza and refreshments will be served following the movie. Glazes are guests

International evangelists Terrell Glaze and Beverly Glaze will be ministering the powerful and uncompromising Word of the Living God at Payson Living Word Bible Church, 94 Cornerstone Way (4 miles east of Payson on E. Highway 260, just across from Lumbermen's) on Friday, March 21 through Sunday, March 23. On Friday and Saturday, the service will be at 7 p.m. and on Sunday; the service will be at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Glaze traveled with country music legend Roy Clark for a number of years and has appeared on several television shows, including "Hee Haw" and "The Tonight Show." Potters House Church Easter service

The Potters House Church Easter services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 23. Easter services at Church of the Nazarene

The Payson First Church of the Nazarene will have three services for Easter. A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m.; a traditional service is planned at 9:30 a.m.; and a contemporary service will be held at 11:10 a.m.

There will be an Easter breakfast at 8 a.m. and an egg hunt at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday school or evening service.
