Car Collides With Home

Early Monday morning a driver on northbound Highway 87 fell asleep at the wheel and went off the road into a mobile home in the Gateway Mobile Home Park.

Sgt. Tom Tieman of the Payson Police Department said Pamela Collins, 62, of East Verde Park was driving northbound on 87, fell asleep, crossed the southbound lanes, went off the road, rolled at least once and came to rest against a mobile home in the Gateway Park.

No one was injured in the occupied mobile home, but Collins had to be flown to a Valley hospital, Tieman said. She is expected to be released today, he said.

"She will be cited for failure to control her vehicle," Tieman said.
