Senior Center Menu For April


The Payson Senior Center serves a hot meal at noon weekdays in the dinning room at the Payson Senior Citizens Center, 514 W. Main St. No membership is required. The cost of the meal is $3 for persons 60 and older, $5 for those younger than 60. Meals can also be delivered to homebound individuals. Reservations must be made one day in advance. For reservations, call (928) 474-4876. The menu for April is as follows:

Tuesday, April 1: chicken pot pie with biscuit, half-cup mixed vegetables, boiled potatoes, carrots and baked apple with cinnamon.

Wednesday, April 2: turkey ham steak, scalloped potatoes, California vegetables, 7-grain roll and fresh strawberry pie in a graham cracker cup.

Thursday, April 3: meat pizza, garden salad with tomato wedges, green beans and peaches with no sugar.

Friday, April 4: baked fish, garlic and cheese mashed potatoes, broccoli salad with low fat mayonnaise, wheat roll and fruit gelatin, topped with a half-cup of mixed berries.

Monday, April 7: hamburger goulash, mashed potatoes, broccoli, wheat roll and fruit ambrosia with reduced fat whipped cream.

Tuesday, April 8: spaghetti with meatballs, garden salad, mixed vegetables, a slice of garlic bread and citrus fruit.

Wednesday, April 9: oven baked chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, 7-grain roll and cake.

Thursday, April 10: pepper steak, stuffing, asparagus, wheat roll and mixed fruit.

Friday, April 11: chicken breast, sandwich deluxe on whole wheat roll, herb potato wedges, cole slaw with low fat mayonnaise and orange juice.

Monday, April 14: turkey brats with kraut, mashed potatoes, beets, cornbread and citrus fruit mix.

Tuesday, April 15: chicken breast with light teriyaki sauce, half-cup mixed vegetables, broccoli salad with low fat mayonnaise, brown rice and light mixed fruit.

Wednesday, April 16: pork loin, garlic potatoes, spinach, 7-grain roll and cake.

Thursday, April 17: hamburger steak with grilled onions, sweet potatoes with light syrup, almond green beans, wheat roll and light chocolate pudding with strawberries.

Friday, April 18: beef tips over wild rice, salad with tomato wedges, corn and lima beans, wheat bread and orange juice.

Monday, April 21: sweet and sour pork over brown rice, stir fry vegetables, egg roll and citrus fruit.

Tuesday, April 22: Salisbury steak, salad, broccoli, wheat bread and unsweetened orange juice.

Wednesday, April 23: chicken Parmesan, au gratin potatoes, mixed vegetables, 7-grain roll and light peach pie filling in shell.

Thursday, April 24: stew bowl with half-cup of vegetables, broccoli salad with low fat mayonnaise and low fat pudding with half-cup berries.

Friday, April 25: baked fish with dill, cole slaw with low fat mayonnaise, baked potato tots, cornbread and light cranberry relish with orange.

Monday, April 28: spaghetti with meatballs, green beans, salad with four tomato wedges, banana and whole wheat roll.

Tuesday, April 29: turkey sausage steak with mile chiles, Japanese vegetables, peas and carrots, wheat bread and citrus fruit mix.

Wednesday, April 30: pork roast, stuffing, asparagus mix, 7-grain roll and baked apples with cinnamon or sweetener.
