Carl Anthony Jackson, 86, died April 28, 2008 in Payson.
Mr. Jackson honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient, assigned to the USS Pensacola.
He moved to Arizona from Hawaii in 1987. He was an instructor with a construction trade school.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon E. Jackson of Payson; sons, Dr. Dennis Ian Jackson of Milwaukee, Wis., Marc G. Jackson of Central Point, Ore., Kevin G. Jackson of Phoenix; daughters, Carlene Hudson of Glendale and Joann Flores of Laveen; stepchildren, Wendy (McCalla) Smith, Paula Vann, Mitchell Smith and Cory Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Jackson; son, Brian Michael Jackson; brother, James B. Jackson; sisters, Mary A. Raney, Marcella Monford and Genevive Cockran; and stepson, Michael Smith.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, May 1 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
The family suggests donations be made, in his name, to the American Cancer Society.
