Aggravated assault

Donald Leon Howard was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault and multiple other charges at approximately 11 p.m., Monday, April 28.

Howard was arrested after he unlawfully forced his way into a residence and assaulted three people, one of which was a juvenile. The incident allegedly occurred over Howard owing the victims money, and not being pleased when he received a telephone call requesting payment.

Howard went to the victims' residence and reportedly assaulted the homeowner, his wife and their 17-year-old son. When the female victim attempted to use the telephone to call police, Howard pulled the phone away from her. The owner of the residence reported having to use force to physically remove Howard from the residence. As Howard left the scene, he reportedly punched a window out on the homeowner's vehicle and fled.

Later, officers were able to locate Howard at his residence. He was placed under arrest at that time. Along with contacting Donald Howard, officers also contacted his wife, Amanda Howard, who was driving the vehicle, and a 13-year-old juvenile in the back seat of the vehicle.

Officers conducted investigations with both of these subjects and found Amanda Howard to be under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and dangerous drugs. The juvenile was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested.

The charges on all three subjects are as follows: Donald Leon Howard, three counts aggravated assault, criminal damage, threats, preventing the use of a phone during an emergency and involving a minor in a drug offense; Amanda Howard, aggravated DUI, involving a minor in a drug offense, use of marijuana and use of dangerous drugs; the juvenile, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of marijuana.
