A plein-air Paint Out will take place tomorrow at the Tonto Natural Bridge.
On May 10, artists from around Arizona are invited by the State Parks Department to draw and paint at the bridge, 10 miles north of Payson on the Beeline Highway.
Artists will look for something within the state park then draw or paint what sparks their interest.
The event begins at 8 a.m.
At noon, artists will gather to judge their peers' completed work.
The winning painting will be displayed with the winning paintings from other Paint Outs in the gallery at Tubac Presidio State Historic Park in January 2009. The parks department started the Paint Outs in 2009 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Artist Linda Dellandre will demonstrate pastels to the public at Tonto Natural Bridge Saturday.
The park entry fee is waived for artists.
Adult admission to the park is $3. Children under 12 are free.
There is no need for reservations.
Four more Paint Outs remain in 2008: July 19 at Fool Mountain Lake Recreation Area; Aug. 23 at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park; Sept. 27 at Dead Horse Ranch State Park; and Nov. 28 and 29 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
