I want to thank the Rim Country for support of the "Second Annual Blessing of the Bikes," which occurred Saturday, May 3rd at Payson United Methodist Church. This event, sponsored by the "Riders of the Purple Sage," a motorcycle ministry of Payson United Methodist Church, was spiritually moving for those in attendance. The service focused on honoring and remembering veterans and others who have passed away. Additionally, each motorcyclist received a personal blessing from Rev. David Rennick that God may travel with them and keep them from harm. We were especially honored to have the "Payson Military Honor Guard" present the colors as part of the service. Additionally, the "Payson Supply Line" was the recipient of donations received from the sale of water bottles at the event. DJ Craig provided us with wonderful music before and during the service. Also, each rider received a "cool tie" neck wrap made especially for this event by Ruth Fulton to keep riders cool in the warmer riding months. I also want to thank all of the Payson-area media sources for getting the word out on this event. Finally, I want to thank the Payson Police Department and its volunteers for providing us with a police escort through Payson as we embarked on our group ride to the Mogollon Rim for prayer and fellowship. We are excited that this event is now established as an annual opportunity for motorcyclists to fellowship with each other and connect with God.
