Joel Brian Myers, 68, died May 14, 2008 in Yuma, after a courageous eight-month battle with cancer.
He was born in Mantua, Ohio and moved to the Phoenix area in 1950. He spent 20 years in the Pine-Strawberry area as a building contractor and avid hunter -- the elk in Unit 6A can rest easier now.
He retired to Page in 2003 and enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Powell.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy; children, Sherry, Diana and Michael; brother, Tim; sister, Marilyn; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24 at Strawberry Chapel in the Pines, 8579 Fossil Creek Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Myers' memory be made to Hospice of Yuma (www.hospiceofyuma.com).
