Cruise-In Was Big Success

As the chairman for the 15th annual Beeline Cruise-In Auto Show, I want to thank everyone in Payson who participated in and enjoyed the Rim Country Classic Auto Club's 50-year celebration of the Beeline Highway.

By coming out on Saturday to see all the beautiful cars, you made the show a success and helped us set an all-time record. This year we raised approximately $25,000 that will be distributed to local Payson area charities.

First off, thank you sponsors. You make the show possible. And, thanks to every business in town that donated items for the raffle. This year we raffled off over $12,000 in prizes. Thanks also go out to the Main Street Merchants who let us use their street for the day and, especially the Senior Center and the Womans Club for allowing us to use your parking lots for our vendors.

Support for the show came at us from every direction from sources that most are not aware of. It came from individuals like Ross Hage at Edward Jones, who produced all of the show programs for us gratis. It came from the town's office of tourism, the parks district, the fire department, the city manager, the mayor and even the city council.

And finally, I have to thank the Payson Roundup for all of the excellent articles that made everyone in town aware that, once again, the car show was upon us. Their Rim Review special for the car show was a classic. It was the primary force that turned out the crowds on Saturday and that's what helped us set records.

Once again, thank you Payson.
