Escape In A Good Book From The Library

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and many wonder with the world’s economy in upheaval, what exactly do we have to be thankful for?

As the old saying goes, it’s the little things in life that helps us get through the tough times. Libraries are not a luxury, but one of the necessities of life. They are an honorable part of man’s history.

Payson Public Library not only provides books, DVDs, magazines, Internet services, multi-generational programs, music CDs and much more — the best part of this sweet deal is that these services are free. Rich or poor, when you walk through the doors of your library, you are on a level playing field.

The staff of the library prides itself on providing excellent service to all those who wish to take advantage of the services.

There are 36 volunteers in the library along with 27 bookstore volunteers who assist paid staff in providing services to you. Combined, they clocked up 10,217 hours which is equivalent to 4.91 full-time people. Staff is grateful to them. Without volunteers we would not be able to provide you with the level of service that we do.

Stress abounds during times of hardship. Escape into a good book. Let yourself be transported to another time or world, read, enjoy, regroup. Come on in — check out a good book or movie.
