“As a volunteer service organization for business and professional women, Soroptimists believe that by acknowledging young women’s volunteer involvement now, they will grow up to be vital, active members of the community,” said Clarice Christensen, president of Soroptimist International of Zane Grey Country.
The Violet Richardson Award application is now available to deserving women throughout Rim Country. This award recognizes young women who make the community and the world a better place through volunteer efforts.
If you are a young woman between the ages of 14 and 17 who volunteers in your community through your school, church or nonprofit organization; if you are one who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you may be eligible to win a Violet Richardson Award.
If you know a young lady who would make a good Violet Richardson Award candidate, or if you, yourself, think you would be a good candidate, please don’t hesitate to call for your application.
Contact Suzanne Bohlman, chairman, at (928) 978-8866.
Remember, applications must be returned to by Dec. 1. The winner of this award will then become eligible on the Soroptimist’s regional level for an additional monetary award.
