Residents Brave Cool Weather To Hang Up The Christmas Lights

This last Saturday, those who braved the cooler temperatures to hang the Christmas lights along the road were Judy Toole, Karen Thornton, Laura Alvin, Nancy Olson, Morgan and Margie Alvin, Chuck Schmitt and Mark Alvin.

Lights will be turned on Thanksgiving evening if all goes well.

Fall cleanup and pickup went very well thanks to Ron Laugh, Sam Seay, Gary Anderson, Chuck Schmitt and Mark Alvin. They worked very hard to pickup your bags of leaves and needles. Those of you who still have bags in your front yards, it’s because you were supposed to

call for pickup and you did not. If you want them picked up, you will need to call Rick Schantz at (928) 478-4877 and he will come by with the firewise trailer. You will need to be there to load the bags.

Upcoming events

Saturday, Dec. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the fire station is the Christopher Creek Homeowners Annual Christmas Party for the kids. Santa will be on hand to pass out stockings to the good little boys and girls in the community.

That same evening at 7 p.m. is the Second Annual Quads and Carts Christmas Parade through the community. Everyone is asked to decorate his or her machine and meet at the Landmark parking lot.

Try to drive slower this year so the residents can enjoy your decorations. Last year it seemed more like a race through the community, and of course we were late getting there and you guys had already made it to Columbine Road. Some of your vehicles were so nicely decorated everyone wants to get a chance to see them and enjoy the spirit of the holidays. Maybe drive slow, play some Christmas Christmas music and let the people come out and greet you.

Bill Hunter of Hunter Creek will be adding another candle to his cake Nov. 20, as will Steve Fish of Columbine Road. Not too much cake, Steve, I know you have been doing a very good job staying in shape. Bob Quay will celebrate his birthday on Nov. 22. Wishing all of you a happy birthday.

Congratulations goes out to the newly elected fire board members, Jim Oliver, Debbie Dawson and Margo Fish Holmes. They will take office Dec. 1. There will be a special meeting at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21 for them to elect positions, and a board meeting on Dec. 8 with the new board.

Christopher/Kohl’s Fire Department is looking for volunteers. If you would like to join our department, stop in and talk with our fire chief, Electra VanEckhoutte. She would be happy to help you in any way she can.
