Dismayed at responses to override rejection

Editor:
I was dismayed to read the responses of people who rejected the school override, especially those who feel that since they don’t have children in school, they no longer need to support PUSD.
Who do we think is going to pay into Social Security to support those already receiving it and those who will receive it later?
We need a well-educated population with skills and abilities. Keep the next generations strong. If we have to pare down the district (they are at barebones now), the ratings on Payson will go down, as will property values. Potential homebuyers want and will pay for a flourishing school district. Taxes would not have gone up ... your property values may go down. What have you saved? Yes, I am on a fixed income.
