The Star Valley town council will meet Tuesday and Payson will hold two meetings, one on Tuesday at 5 p.m. to talk about the budget, and its regular meeting on Thursday.
On Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Payson council chamber there will be a budget study session to determine whether to start cutting now to compensate for lower-than-expected tax revenue.
No sooner will the council wade through that issue than it will have to gear up for a Thursday double header. The council at a special session at 5 p.m. will make official the results of the special election in which Payson voters rejected the lease of land to the YMCA.
The regular council meeting follows at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Star Valley will discuss which grant projects to apply for in the upcoming year at Tuesday’s 6:30 p.m. council meeting.
A representative from the Central Arizona Association of governments will be present to answer any questions regarding which grants to apply for, which could result in an estimated $140,000 in funding for the town.
After the town decides which grants to pursue, a second public hearing will be held Dec. 16 to finalize the selections.
The council will also appoint three new members to the board of adjustments, to replace town council members.
