Private James Hansen has completed his Army basic training and on Oct. 2 graduated from the Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
He is the son of Frank and Lorna Hansen, and younger brother of Mark and Michael Hansen, all of Payson.
Hansen is currently in the process of being posted to Fort Benning, Ga. for further training prior to his deployment overseas. He has started to further his education by taking advantage of college courses offered by the Army and plans to have a bachelor of arts degree in criminology by the time his enlistment is done. He also hopes to continue being active in youth music ministry wherever his duty station may be.
Hansen has expressed a wish to become a police officer in Payson once he has completed his service with the U.S. Army. He is a 2005 graduate of Payson High School and played with the Payson High School Longhorns for two seasons.
