The Pine Strawberry Water Improvement District Board has filed suit to condemn the water companies serving the two communities and has asked the Arizona Corporation to revoke owner Brooke Utilities right to operate the two systems.
DPS to slow drivers down at start of Thanksgiving Holiday
Operation Border to Border will utilize 42 mobile photo enforcement units

With the start of the long Thanksgiving Holiday travel period, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, in partnership with Operation CARE (Combined Accident Reduction Effort), will place 42 mobile photo enforcement units along Interstate 10 and Interstate 40 in Arizona. These mobile units will be placed every 20 miles along these designated interstates (from border to border) to help slow drivers down. These mobile photo enforcement units will be in operation from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26.
Design board would rather quit than just hear appeals

Members of Payson’s Design Review Board this week informally agreed they’d rather quit and go home than accept a demotion into a mere appeals board, as envisioned in one of two plans the town council will consider in December.
