Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!
Today is “Black Friday” for the retailers and shoppers, and it has become a huge day for shopping bargains. Most likely, by the time you read the paper, you are already wiped out from shopping.
I have survived a trip to Yuma watching over my grandchildren. The week proved to be a bit tiring on me, especially looking after teens and an 8-year-old. The experience showed how out of shape I am to keep up with the young people. It was all worth it when our son and daughter-in-law came back with stories of their adventures on the Mexican Riviera. They enjoyed snorkeling, parasailing, swimming with dolphins and zip riding. I needed an explanation for zip riding. They rode a rope a few hundred feet in the air from tree to tree. Wow, that one is not for me! I am going to spend a few days resting.

The gifts should not cost more than $10. Be creative with the wrapping.
The Scotch Doubles on Friday, Nov. 21 didn’t quite pan out. There were not enough players, so a run-off on eight-ball took its place.
Harvey Poyner was the big winner with Betty Koutz and Kara Shaw shooting for second and third place.
This past Tuesday evening, the gals played nine-ball, and a new winner emerged. Bobette Davis, of Tonto Village II, shot for first place, followed by Ethel Cain and Kara Shaw.
Another pool tournament was held on Sunday afternoon and Harvey Poyner shot for first place. Harvey has sure been a good shooter lately. Are there any challengers out there? Joe Ferriera and Betty Koutz placed second and third.
Congratulations to all the winners.
There was a large amount of news that was not in my column last week — I will try and catch up.
