Technical glitches delay property tax mailing

Despite rumors of political conspiracy, Gila County’s delayed mailing of property tax notices is due to technological difficulties. Five counties, including Gila, are affected because they all operate under the same system.
Supervisors on Tuesday said that contrary to rumors, the delay has nothing to do with giving incumbents an edge over their challengers.
The treasurer’s office will send tax notices as quickly as possible, though that date is still unknown, according to Treasurer Debi Savage.
