Ladies get together for day of crafts

Fourteen ladies got together this week at the Christopher Creek Bible Chapel for a day of crafts. Bianca Malmin showed the ladies how to make some wonderful hats. After they had fun making their hats, the ladies headed up to Pine for a wonderful lunch at the Randall House. The Randall House has been a tradition since 1881. Some of the ladies have never been there, but were truly impressed with their lunch, and the service.
Storm causes damage in village

What a rain storm Tonto Village experienced this past weekend. Some of the residents thought that we had a micro burst come through the village. The wind whipped around the trees and one just toppled down on the Walker residence on Standage Drive. The tree broke and after it hit the end of the house and put a massive hole in the roof, it split in half and landed on a group of quads in the back yard. What a mess.
One is good, two are great

Doug Blazer has two loves in his life — three if you count his wife — Mustangs and eBay. Blazer, a battalion chief with the Hellsgate Fire Department, has two Ford Mustangs, a 1971 Mach 1 sport coupe and a 2005 Roush Stage 2, both blue and both bought off eBay.
Humane Society touts plan

The Payson Humane Society trotted out a pack of happy dogs and determined board members on Tuesday, to reaffirm its plans for a new animal shelter and its ongoing fundraising drive.
Schools meet federal standards

All of Rim Country’s schools have met federal standards set by No Child Left Behind except for Star Valley’s New Visions Academy, according to data released Wednesday by the Arizona Department of Education.
