I’ve always wanted to vote for a candidate whom I thought: would take care of what we already have and would not fix anything that didn’t need fixing.
Y should not be given town land

I am not particularly for or against the YMCA in Payson. However, I am against giving the Y over five acres of our precious park land for next to nothing in return. I don’t understand why it is okay for them but not for other non profits in our town.
Payson school district budget override needed

We are being asked by the Payson Unified School District for approval to continue the 10 percent budget override to fund needed programs within the District. I fully support this effort. This override would continue funding for programs currently serving District students. These programs include maintaining small class size and student/teacher ratios, music programs for K-8, certified librarians for K-12, physical education teachers for K-6, school nurses, elective and fine arts classes, and computer lab aides for K-6.
Sherwood extension affects quality of life

The amendment to the town general plan by Montezuma Castle Land Exchange presents an opportunity to address a serious problem in the making for the neighborhoods of Woodhill, Alpine Village and Manzanita Hills. The plat maps show, and the current town traffic plan has confirmed, that Sherwood Drive is planned as a through street to the new Airport Road alignment.
Area schools meet federal standards with one exception

All Rim Country’s schools met federal standards set by No Child Left Behind except for Star Valley’s New Visions Academy, according to data released Wednesday by the Arizona Department of Education.
