Every morning when I am being taken to school at (Rim Country Middle School) I cannot help but notice that more than half of the high school students I see driving around the corner of McLane and Longhorn Road are not wearing their seat belts.

Why do the police not enforce the seat belt laws? Why do the student drivers feel that they do not have to wear their seat belts? Do their parents know that they are endangering themselves and their passengers?

I wish they would take time to be safe — I do not want to see a horrible accident because they feel they are “too cool” to wear their seat belts.

I wish the police department would enforce the laws.
