Editor:
The voters of Payson recently received, by mail, the publicity pamphlet regarding the fate of the YMCA.
The pamphlet contains an argument in favor of the Y signed by Rory Huff, member Parks Advisory Board. I want to make sure that the citizens of Payson understand that Rory was speaking as an individual and not as a representative of the Parks and Recreation Board.
The current board does not have an official position on the Y, nor should it. Individually, some board members support Prop 401 and others oppose it.
Personally I object to the confiscation of public parkland for the benefit of the few.
Say NO to Prop 401 but that’s just my position.
