Gas is now cheaper in Phoenix

Editor:
In the early 1980s, gasoline in Payson cost 25 cents more per gallon than in Phoenix. The experts told us that the cost of transporting gas from the Phoenix terminal tanks to Payson was three-quarters of a cent per gallon.
I am totally aware that with the cost of gas today that the transport cost must be 5, 6, or even 7 cents per gallon. On Sunday, Sept. 28, while in Phoenix, I saw a QT Station on Camelback just west of the 101 that was selling gas at $3.31 per gallon. The cheapest gas in Payson that evening was and is $3.61. I will make no further comment. The people of Payson will have to come to their own conclusions.

P.S. Earlier this year, gas was cheaper in Payson than in Phoenix.

Gas has been cheaper in Mesa for the last two years but this last two weeks it is higher. I was upset last week because thinking it was cheaper here I filled up for the trip to Mesa. $3,67 when I got to Mesa it was $3.27 at one station. What a shock.

I bought gas twice this week in Tempe for $3.11/gallon. It's $3.43 or more here in Payson today according to gasbuddy.com.
As far as I am concerned it's a price fixing conspiracy by the local gas stations. They will do whatever they think they can get away with. So what else is new?
My solution is to buy my gas in the valley. I won't buy gas locally as long as they continue to rip us off. My suggestion is for everyone that can to do the same and boycott local gas retailers.
