Halloween fun planned in area
October 10, 2008

It is that time of year again when the tarantulas are on the loose. It seems the only time I have ever seen one of these spiders is in October. For some strange reason they are out and about during this month. The other day my daughter and I were walking down the road during the day and came across two of them. I have not been able to figure out why it is only during the month of October that we see them, but I am glad that is the only time. These things are not little spiders, some of them are about four inches across, and that is pretty big for someone who doesn’t like spiders, even the very small ones.
Maybe they like Halloween and are getting ready for that. Or, maybe they like the furry large spider I have on my wall for a Halloween decoration. It beats me, but I will be glad when they are gone and I no longer see them walking around.
Birthdays
Elli Ashby will be having another birthday on Oct. 12. She is such a sweetheart. She has lived in Christopher Creek for many years now, and all of us who know her just think the world of her.
Lois Jones will be adding another candle to her cake on Oct. 15. And Tracy Purtee who is active at the Christian school and drives around in that UPS truck will be celebrating his birthday on Oct. 17.
Wishing all of you a happy birthday.
Don’t forget the Christopher Creek Homeowners meeting scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at the fire station. You will find out who your new officers are.
The annual Christopher Creek Homeowners Association Trick-or-Treat Hayride is scheduled for 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at the fire station. For more information on this event, you can call Judy Toole at (928) 478-0508.
The Third Annual Hunter Creek Halloween Party and Trick-or-Treat Hayride is at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 in Hunter Creek. If you live in Hunter Creek and have kids — or grandkids — who want to go this year, or if you can pass out candy to the little goblins, please give me a call at (928) 478-4519.
