School/Subject taught: Payson Center for Success; Science/History/PE/Job Shadows/Internships
College Degrees: Bachelor of Science in Physical Science and Physical Education at Northern Arizona University, masters in Counseling and Human Relations at the same school.
Years Teaching: 13
Why do I teach? I never wanted to do anything else.
Personal Motto/Words of Wisdom: I am not qualified to give anyone words of wisdom except those I teach and those I raise.
Family: The best and most tolerant husband (Mark) and two great kids, Julie, 12, and Hayden, 6, three dogs, one cat, one gecko, two love birds, a number of fish, a missing baby tarantula, and the occasional horny toad and desert lizard.
Pet Peeve: Rude and unfriendly people
Favorite Hobbies/leisure activities: Shopping (still dream of winning the lottery to make it a true hobby), running
Why Payson? Family! I/we couldn’t do it without them.
Favorite teacher: Mrs. Potts (3rd grade). She would let our class rats loose in the room if we were quiet, and she taught me the difference between writing a ‘b’ versus a ‘d.’
