I would like to recommend Tommie Cline Martin for county supervisor.
Tommie has been instrumental in getting funds to fight the on-going “wildfire” situation in Rim Country. When I heard that her opponent, Dan Haapala, was against the continuation of using tax money for water storage tanks and bladders I was compelled to write.
We don’t have hurricanes and much of the catastrophic natural disasters that people face in other parts of our country, but we do have fires. We have them every year. We must do all we can to protect the people of Rim Country. Tommie has fought for the thinning of our forests and other safety measures.
On a personal note, as president of our local Take Pride Project in Pine and Strawberry, Tommie has always made the effort to come to Pine and personally make the presentation of the “Volunteer of the Year” award, to one of our citizens. I can remember a county supervisor in Long Island, making an award to a Scoutmaster. This supervisor came late, had a two-minute presentation and a 10-minute photo op and then left. Tommie comes early, stays for the entire time and is interested in the individual and their accomplishments.
Tommie has been involved in many worthwhile projects and one that is on-going as I write is the construction of a new ramada in Pine — 40 percent larger than the old one that is being constructed with grant money that Tommie helped to secure for the people of Pine.
Help to re-elect Tommie Cline Martin, one of the fighters for Gila County and Rim Country.
