Payson Community Kids — better known as Marcy’s Kids — a nonprofit haven for low-income, at-risk children and families, is hosting its semi-annual fund-raiser this Saturday.
Join Four Seasons Realty and KRIM radio for a silent auction, raffle and barbecue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 102 E. Main St.
Up for grabs are more than 35 prizes including a flat-screen TV, weekend trips, movie tickets and dinners.
Raffle tickets are $5 or five for $20, available at the door.
Susie’s BBQ wagon will provide food for sale and there will be free refreshments.
“It is going to be a lot of fun and it is all for Marcy’s Kids,” said Four Seasons Realty owner Betty Gooder. “It is incredible the number of businesses that help out and donate, we have so many prizes we had to combine some into packages.”
Payson Community Kids, started more than 10 years ago by Marcy Rogers, who provides clothing, food, after-school programs and counseling to children. Participants can get ready for church on Sunday, take art, sports, gardening and music classes, get free meals at the center and participate in community service events.
“There are a lot of children that fall through the cracks in the community and Marcy is really the only one in the community that has a place for them to go,” Gooder said. “She is showing them at a young and impressionable age, that people do care.”
