County Attorney Daisy Flores was released from a Scottsdale hospital Wednesday afternoon, after being injured in a bicycle accident Aug. 22.
Flores was riding back from Roosevelt Lake to her home in Globe, with her husband, Dr. Tim Trent, when she was hit by a tractor-trailer.
The truck struck Flores on the left side, throwing her 20 yards off Highway 188, said deputy Gila County Attorney Patti Wortman.
DPS is still investigating if the truck veered off the roadway onto the shoulder, or if Flores was in the roadway.
Flores suffered multiple broken bones on her left side, including her hand and arm, Wortman said.
She also fractured her leg, pelvis and had road rash.
Trent, who was riding behind Flores, was uninjured.
Flores, who was in the hospital for 12 days, has not been cleared to return to work, but she has been communicating with staff and supervisors by e-mail and telephone, Wortman said.
Wortman said she does not know when Flores will return to work.
