Pugel Named To Governor's Council On Small Business


Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano has appointed Rim Country resident and business owner, Ray Pugel to the Governor's Council on Small Business.

The Council was re-established in 2004 as a forum to focus on topics that affect Arizona's small business community and to bring concerns and recommendations to the governor. Pugel has been involved in small businesses since the mid-1980s. He is a past member of the Gila County Industrial Development Authority and currently serves on the board of the Payson Regional Medical Center.

He and his wife Julie are the owners of Coldwell Banker Bishop Realty.

The couple has resided in Pine for more than 12 years, where they raised their two children, Kyle and Kaycee, who are now attending Northern Arizona University.

They have also contributed their time to raising funds for Habitat for Humanity and for local schools through the Credit for Kids program.

In addition, they are active in solving the water issues concerning Pine and Strawberry.
