We were lucky enough while on vacation from England UK to pass through Payson, and attend the "August Doin's" Rodeo. We attended on Sunday 17th August which also happened to be our son Tyler's 11th birthday. It was somewhere he had asked if we could go for his birthday as he had never attended a rodeo before (we get nothing like this in England).
Not only did we come across very friendly and helpful people, but also my son had his best birthday ever (his words) due to a number of people in Payson.
This included making sure that he got a birthday announcement, which took him totally by surprise.
Thank you to the lovely lady who helped make this happen, sorry we never got your name, but I'm hoping someone will read this and pass on our thanks.
Also huge thanks to Pepper (although thanks just doesn't seem enough) who took him from the bleachers down to the pens to see the horses, etc., and watch the rodeo up close. Pepper also presented Tyler with a buckle and bandana which is now proudly displayed in his room. I'm hoping someone will also pass on our thanks to Pepper, too.
We visited many places while on vacation in the USA, but Tyler, my husband and I all agreed that Payson and the rodeo was the highlight of it all. Even as we were leaving, the people of Payson were still wishing Tyler a happy birthday, and wishing us well.
We were not in Payson for very long, but it was long enough for us to be still missing it!
Tyler has already put a request in for his 12th birthday for next year, who knows, you may see us again!
Thank you again to the people of Payson.
