Barbara Wilembrecht and Brenda Martell, owners of Paper & Metal Scrappers, invite veteran and beginning scrapbook enthusiasts to help them as they Scrap Pink for breast cancer Saturday, Sept. 27.
Rim Country scrapbooking enthusiasts have an opportunity to do their part for the fight against breast cancer.
The Paper & Metal Scrappers store is participating in the national Scrap Pink campaign created by Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbook etc. to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The all-day event is Saturday, Sept. 27 at Paper & Metal Scrappers in the Swiss Village Shops of Payson.
Brenda Martell and Barbara Wilembrecht, owners of Paper & Metal Scrappers, see Scrap Pink as much more than another fund-raiser.
“We want to give something back ... honor our customers who have survived this illness, remember those who have passed on and carry on for those that are currently battling breast cancer,” Martell and Wilembrecht said.
To ensure adequate space and materials for participants, reservations for the evening crop are recommended. Workshops during the day will accept walk-ins. The day’s projects include a cookbook and embossing metal for a travel mug, however reservations for materials are suggested.
A “make and take” creating a “pink” card is planned at the front of the store.
There will be raffle prizes created with the theme “Scrap Pink” in mind.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winners will be selected at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27.
For more information, or to reserve a space or materials, call (928) 468-1188 or stop by the store at 804 N. Beeline Highway, Swiss Village Center, Payson.
